2010 was due in the San Francisco 49er year to shine. Singeltary coach finally gets it easy with his linebacker-style pure hard training and a talented team under his wing. Quarterback Alex Smith finally consolidate its position as the leading man 49er with a peak of team leadership and solid performances throughout the year. Running back Frank Gore finally shows his true talent in the NFL with an injury-free season over 1000 yards. Out as Takeo Spikes and Nate Clements will continue to play at a high level defensively. The NFC West could easily contract with teams like Seattle and San competition Loius provide sub-par for the Niners.
49er season did not work as expected. Fast forward to January 2011: The Seattle Seahawks in the playoffs and the 49ers are watching the games from their homes in Marin and Atherton.
